It might be a stretch to say I have always had a passion for Real Estate, as I probably have not, but I vividly remember when my parents decided to sell our Glenfield family home in 1995. I would wait patiently for the North Shore Property Press to be delivered (on a Thursday, I recall), and I would cut out each suitable property within my parent's budget of $250,000 (everything was priced back then). Then, with my trusted wises map by my side and work out the travel time between each property and work it in with the open home times. For months and months, I did this until we finally found our family home in Browns Bay; I still have fond memories of doing this. Since then, I have had many other passions, but property and sales have always been an underlying interest. The seed planted as an 11year old boy in 1995 could have led me into a role at NZME in the advertising team looking after Real Estate companies in 2014. For the next five years, I got an in-depth insight into the importance of advertising homes to the passive and active market in New Zealand. While at NZME, we went from a print-only real estate sales team to OneRoof, a print, and digital platform. This experience at NZME has instilled a deep understanding of print and digital advertising channels in real estate. Most real estate agents are great at directing you to active buyers, but engaging the passive audience is a rewarding skill to have on your side, especially if you are selling in a buyers' market. Outside of Real Estate, I am a father of two precious kids who attend school here in Orewa. But, most importantly, I have a lovely wife, Michelle, who is the deserving star behind our family and all I do. We are keen beachgoers, and I am a keen surfer and recently started swimming; as of February 2021, my good friend and I set a goal to swim the Orewa Estuary 2-3 times a week in our boardshorts, all year round (no neoprene allowed). We have successfully kept this going, with over 200 swims, over 1200 crossings, and two very happy mates. My goal in real estate is to bring the wealth of advertising knowledge I have with marketing a property by ensuring we get an active audience, but also engage with the circa 88%-90% of NZ who are not active but passive buyers. I will personally bring a refreshing attitude to real estate, but I'll let you decide for yourself. For a potential vendor considering working with me, I promise the appraisal will not be your highlight as in so many cases in life, it is the easy part to impress at the start with many promises, but with me, the highlight will be the service provided during the journey of selling your home and the aftersale service. I have been in and around real estate for many years; I have been in a sales environment that has refined my sales skills for nearly 20 years. I have learned that service without action is simply fluff. So let me introduce myself over the phone, in person, or whatever is comfortable for you. Then, if you feel I might suit you, and be the person that sells your home, let's sell your most significant asset together.
