Harcourts Cooper & Co clients in northern Auckland now have the advantage of selling their properties or attending auctions a little closer to home, with auctions being conducted from the company’s Silverdale office every Wednesday from 1pm.

Open to the public, the auctions at Silverdale complement the Cooper & Co Takapuna auction room, which operates on a Tuesday and Thursday from 1pm.  Head of the auction team Andrew North says the double venues mean the power of auction is even more available to clients across the city.

“Auction energy appears to be on the rise, with last Thursday’s auction at Takapuna selling four out of six properties under the hammer,” Andrew says. “The week before was 57% under the hammer, so there’s definitely more energy in the auction room as we head into warmer weather.

“The new auction room at Silverdale will allow even more clients to sell their properties or buy one in closer proximity to where they live or work, and with easy parking.”

One of Cooper & Co’s ‘pillars’ is a strong auction business with world-class auctioneers, and Andrew says clients have a choice of six exclusive Harcourts auction experts to sell their homes. In a market where people are worried about auctioning their properties, Harcourts Cooper & Co is seeing strong sales success and prices well above reserve.

“Over the past few weeks, we have had a couple of stand-out auctions with bidding taking the price considerably over reserve prices…in one case just under $500,000 over, even in this harder market,” he says. “Auction is the only method of sale that gives a seller this chance.

“It’s like a ticket in the lottery – is this happening less, absolutely…but you can’t win if you don’t have a ticket. Don’t be concerned about considering auction for your property at the moment.  Give our auction team a call, and we’ll talk the process through with you and provide you with the information you need to make an informed decision.”
